Shipbuilding Program

Introduction:

Shipbuilding program was opened in 2006 within the body of Bulent Ecevit University Alapli Vocational School in order to fill the need for qualified intermediate staff in the shipyards region between Eregli and Akcakoca, on the coast of Northwest Anatolia, and to train Shipbuilding Technicians. started admitting students.

Education:

Department of Motor Vehicles and Transportation Technologies, Shipbuilding associate degree program covers a 2-year education. He continues his education and training as a formal education. During 4 semesters, students have to complete 120 ECTS compulsory and elective courses and complete their internship.

In the 2019-2020 academic year, no quota was given to the department by YÖK, so there is currently no foreign quota for students coming from abroad. If foreign students are admitted, they will be subjected to the Turkish preparatory program for 1 year at the Turkish Teaching Application and Research centre (Karaelmas TÖMER). If YÖK grants a quota, it is planned to apply an optional English preparatory program to students who are accepted to the program as of the 2020-2021 academic year. According to the data of March 4, 2020, the total number of students enrolled in the program is 23, and there are no foreign students in our program.

Our students who graduate from our school are entitled to receive the "Associate Degree" with all their recognized powers. Graduates of the program can work in shipyards, design offices, classification societies and various industrial establishments as technicians. Shipbuilding Technicians: They are qualified intermediate staff who can assist the engineer group in the preparation of projects designed by naval engineers on paper and in computer environment.

Our Associate Degree Program Educational Objectives:

Gaining the skills to use and apply the basic science and technical knowledge required in the design, production and operation stages of all kinds of ships,

Ability to identify, solve and decide technical problems,

Being able to draw the construction projects of ships in computer environment (AutoCad, Maxsurf, Tribon etc.),

Able to read and implement ready-made projects obtained from shipbuilding design bureaus,

Welding and welding quality control,

Having a professional and ethical understanding, able to work in a team,

aims to train shipbuilding technicians.

Upgrade:

Our students, who successfully complete the Associate Degree Program in Shipbuilding, can transfer vertically to the undergraduate programs determined by OSYM for this department when they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam opened by OSYM.
