Casting Program

Introduction:

Casting is carried out in the workshops of the Turkish Hard Coal Institution in Zonguldak, and if we consider that there is casting work in many sectors from Karabuk Iron and Steel Factory, Eregli Iron and Steel Factory and the surrounding provinces, again between Duzce and Istanbul, it is a program in Alaplı Vocational School of Casting Department. its importance is understood.

Casting is the product obtained when we pour the molten metal into this cavity by obtaining the cavity of any desired part. This obtained product is an indispensable field for many sectors, from the machinery industry to the automotive industry.

Education:

The Associate Degree program of the foundry department covers a 2-year education, during these 4 semesters, students have to complete the courses specified in the education plans and do their internship, which is 30 working days. At this stage, students are not accepted to the department.

The Casting Department strives to achieve the goals it has adopted in order to achieve the best with its teaching staff and other administrative personnel, education-teaching and research activities. From this point;

Our Mission:

To train well-equipped technicians who are modern, environmentally conscious, prone to teamwork, have good communication skills and constantly follow the developments in their field.

Our Associate Degree Program Educational Objectives:

In line with the general working principles of the enterprise, by using tools, equipment and equipment effectively, in accordance with the occupational health, safety and environmental protection regulations and the productivity and quality requirements of the profession;

Deciding which metal or alloy should be used in which quantities according to the place where it will be used.

Preparing the sand moulds and making them ready for casting,

Being able to determine the material with a microscope by knowing the microstructure of the casting part.

Able to melt metals according to technological knowledge

To train Casting Technicians who can keep the analysis accounts of the poured part

Administrative Staff:

Administrative/technical personnel are 3 people in total and consist of 1 Secretary, 1 Technician and 1 Serviceman.

Infrastructure:

The casting program is gathered in a separate building in Alapli Vocational School of higher education. There are 2 lecture classes and 1 technical drawing class (30 people each) in this building. It also has a Casting Workshop, Metallographic sample preparation and sand laboratory.
