Building Draftsperson Program

Introduction:

Building draftspeople; They are the people who can assist the architects and engineers in the preparation of the projects designed by engineers, architects and city planners on paper and in computer environment.

The aim of the building draftsperson program is, to train technical staff who can draw the designed construction projects according to the relevant regulations and technical information, have professional responsibility and ethical rules, and focus on continuous self-development. 

Education:

Department of Architect and Urban Planning, Building Painting associate degree program covers a 2-year education. He continues his education and training as a formal education. During 4 semesters, students have to complete 120 ECTS compulsory and elective courses and complete a 30-day summer internship.

In the 2019-2020 academic year, the general quota of the department is 40 students, and the number of foreign quotas for students coming from abroad is 15. Foreign students are subjected to the Turkish preparatory program for 1 year at the Turkish Teaching Application and Research Centre (Karaelmas TOMER). Starting from the 2020-2021 academic year, an optional English preparatory program is planned for those who are accepted to the program. According to the data of March 4, 2020, the total number of students enrolled in the program is 105 and 4 of them are foreign nationals.

Our students who graduate from our school are entitled to receive the "Associate Degree" with all their recognized powers. The graduates of the program can work with architects and city planners in the construction of all kinds of buildings, bridges and maps as building drafting technicians. building draftspeople must have painting, graphic and design skills.

The architecture and urban planning sector include the cities we live in and all kinds of building construction such as schools, factories, workplaces, hospitals, all kinds of infrastructure activities such as roads, bridges, dams, electricity, water, plumbing, it covers all hardware works such as heating and ventilation. In this broad framework, the employment opportunities of our students in our " Building Draftsperson " program are seen as very bright.

In terms of the course content and drawing abilities in the education they will receive; building drafting technicians; They will be able to work in the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the Directorates of Science and Development of Municipalities, public institutions such as iller Bank, etc., painting workshops of enterprises, engineering, city planning, architecture offices and construction companies.

Students who successfully complete the Associate Degree of Building Draftsperson program can transfer vertically to the following undergraduate programs determined by OSYM for this department, when they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam opened by OSYM.

-Conservation and Repair of Cultural Heritage

-Architecture
